FAQs
Is Tasmaniac Trademark Gin an “apple gin”?
Whilst we did incorporate a lot of apple into Tasmaniac Trademark Gin, we wanted to create a balanced contemporary gin and not have the product fall into a flavoured gin category. You’ll notice more of an impression of apple rather than an explosion of it, yet with great texture and savoury notes. This allowed Tasmaniac Trademark Gin to have versatility and you can visit our recipe section to find the many ways to enjoy it!

Similar to where gin has juniper as its hero ingredient, caraway is that to Aquavit and there’s a lot of freedom for experimenting with different botanicals surrounding caraway.
Being in Tasmania, we are lucky to have amazing ingredients that can be used in Aquavit which are both foraged wild or produced by local farmers.
How do I drink Aquavit?
Commonly in Scandinavia, when it comes to drinking Aquavit, it’s often found in traditional settings like Crayfish parties, as an accompaniment with seafood and sipped (or shot) neat. At Christmas, aged Aquavit is very traditional to have sitting beside a Christmas beer or red wine, whilst indulging in heavy fatty food.
However, with the cocktail age, it has been seen in many famous cocktail bars and restaurants around Scandinavia, UK, and the USA used in incredible ways such as the World’s Top Ten Bar, HIMKOK in Oslo.
Bartenders have often approached Aquavit in a similar way to Gin when it comes to how to mix it with drinks. Whilst it’s beautiful to sip neat or over ice. It can be great with a paired Tonic, or a simple cocktail at home such as an Aquavit Sour.
